Admission Open for Academic Year 2024-25

Cambridge Primary Key Stage 1 (5 -7 years old)

Key Stage 1 syllabus is typically designed for students who fall in the age group of 5 to 7 years, where they are guided by well-trained teachers to help build a strong foundation in their crucial schooling years.

Our two-year primary programme focuses on developing languages, teaching mathematical skills and sowing the seeds of scientific inquiry into young minds. It helps build a solid basis for academic and extracurricular activities which are part of our 9GEMS holistic framework.

Cambridge Primary Key Stage 2 (8-11 years old)

Key Stage 2 syllabus or Upper Primary is a four-year programme during which teachers introduce students to advanced levels of skills in all subject areas.
Assessments are carried out by teachers and peers to check the progress of the students through exams and integrated progress checkers. These tests - called Cambridge Primary Progression Tests - are marked by the teacher and enable them to track the progression students.

Students completing Year 6 of Key Stage 2 are also assessed via the Cambridge Primary Checkpoint examinations, following which they are rewarded with a certification of achievement.

Exceptional Academic Results

To offer real and lasting value to our students, we follow a flexible, linear assessment structure to offer a fair and valid evaluation of the students’ progress across the Cambridge Key Stages 1 and 2 programmes. Regular assessments allow us to identify the abilities and gaps in every student, so we can support them in areas they are lacking in.

The right teacher-student ratio can be a remarkable contribution to the academic success of many students. As a low ratio can significantly improve student engagement, we ensure to accept a limited number of students in each class so that they can enjoy balanced growth under the teacher’s mindful supervision.

The Teaching Community

Our teaching faculty focus on the overall development and well-being of every student. We have trained teachers, who are certified to impart Cambridge education, and who have been recognised as the best in the field.

All teachers at GIIS are goal-oriented and committed to being a source of inspiration for our young learners while preparing them to be self-motivated and independent in their academic journey.

Learning at the GIIS Kuala Lumpur Campus

Success in Cambridge education provides students with the best foundation for future education. From helping students build their vocabulary skills in English to improving their engagement in challenging subjects like Maths and Science, our Campus is equipped to facilitate better learning.

We also assist the students in their transition from Early Years through Lower and Upper Primary and monitor their progress throughout the programme.

Using clear learning objectives, GIIS inculcates a sense of confidence and responsibility within the students, which motivates them to excel in academics and extra-curricular activities as well as be future-ready.

Learning Spaces

Our learning and collaborative spaces also encourage students to discuss and resolve doubts, making them assessment-ready throughout the programme.

Why GIIS’ approach shapes better students

At GIIS KL, we offer additional support to prepare the students for the next level.

Through our  9GEMS framework,  which is an award-winning and innovative method of imparting holistic education, we have taken a dynamic approach to learning.
