The leaders of tomorrow are in school today, and the education that they're receiving will shape their actions in years to come. At GIIS Kuala Lumpur, we're proud to offer a strong curriculum and a range of extracurricular activities that allow our students to excel in academic and non-academic pursuits.

We strive to help our students prepare to be the leaders of tomorrow. We do this by fostering a holistic education, so our students can explore their interests and put skills to use in their adulthood. As the best international school in Kuala Lumpur, we're proud to help our students become the leaders of tomorrow. Here's how we do it.

High-Quality Education

GIIS offers a high-quality education to each and every student. Educational offerings differ by age group so that each of our students receives a high-quality education appropriate for their grade level.

1. Global Montessori - We offer Global Montessori to our youngest students to prepare them for the years to come. Global Montessori is a form of play-based learning. Global Montessori helps children grow into highly capable and curious individuals who love learning.

2. Cambridge Primary Programme - Key Stage 1 of this programme is designed for students aged 5 to 7 years. Students focus on developing languages, learning scientific inquiry and developing mathematics skills. Students also begin participating in extracurricular activities at this age. Key Stage 2 introduces students to advanced levels in all subject areas. Students are continuously assessed throughout their time at school, enabling teachers to shape their educational experience to their needs. At the end of Key Stage 2, students are also assessed via the Cambridge Primary Checkpoint examinations and are rewarded following completion of these assessments.

3. Cambridge Lower Secondary Programme - This programme is Key Stage 3. Students are exposed to a unique blend of English, maths, science, social sciences, arts, sports and more. Students at this stage are encouraged to take risks, perform their own research and enrich themselves with opportunities outside the classroom.

4. Cambridge International General Certificate Secondary Education (IGCSE) - This international curriculum is offered to students aged 14 to 16 years. The aim of the curriculum is to prepare students as they finish this stage of their education and pursue the IB Diploma, A Levels or any other curriculum. Expectations for students at this phase are high, as they aim to pass examinations in seven subjects.

CBSE curriculum. This is a dynamic curriculum that helps students polish skills as they make the transition from high school to college. Students work on a range of academic and interpersonal skills. As an international CBSE school in Kuala Lumpur, we provide top-notch teaching to help make learning fun for all. Our faculty undergo regular training through workshops and certification courses to ensure they're prepared to help our students as they prepare to face the challenges of the world outside school.

Global Outlook

In our role as the best international school in Malaysia, we know that diversity among our student body strengthens our students. This diversity can help our students become global citizens later. Diversity is essential for assisting students to develop into compassionate leaders. Students who finish at GIIS are as prepared as they can be for life in a diverse world.

Exposure to Various Platforms

Technology changes on a near-daily basis, and tomorrow's leaders must be proficient with that technology. This is why our students are encouraged to use technology in a range of platforms in GIIS classrooms. We believe exposure to different platforms in technology helps our students discover and enhance their talents.

Technology can be used in nearly every subject in school. Music, reading, languages, maths, and science - technology has its place in all of these subjects and others. You'll find technology platforms in every classroom on campus, from the maths lab to the library.

Holistic Framework and Teaching Values

A holistic education is a balanced education. At GIIS, our focus is on providing a holistic framework that encourages students to develop in academic and non-academic ways. Our diverse campus fosters respect for other cultures and appreciation for those who are different from ourselves. We've made it our mission to show students how to follow the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi so that they can grow into kind and compassionate adults.

Our intrinsic beliefs are that students need information and metrics that can help them improve. By teaching them agility and adaptability, we can give them the tools they need to succeed in a changing world. We teach students to use honesty and integrity and to work in a team.

We also use the 9Gems framework to help our students develop into well-rounded individuals. 9Gems emphasises a number of values, including leadership skills, sports excellence, artistic skills, universal values and entrepreneurship. The 9Gems framework is designed to help students continually discover more about themselves, develop their passions and learn to be self-sufficient.

Here are the 9Gems that we focus on to help our students’ personal growth:

● Academic Excellence

● Sports Excellence

● Visual and Performing Arts

● Personality Development

● Innovation and Creativity

● Entrepreneurship and Leadership

● Universal Values and Ethics

● Community and Care

● Skill Development

The GIIS campus, classrooms and school schedule are all designed to support students in these endeavours. We provide a range of extracurricular and co-curricular activities that help children in these areas.
